Our member, Alexandra Zbuchea, from SNSPA, and her colleague Mauro Romanelli, from the Parthenope University, organize a special track on Communities and cities creating social and public value during the IFKAD 2018 Conference.
The panel aims to stimulate discussions on how cities and communities contribute to making the society more democratic and open to knowledge acquisition, innovation and learning relying on searching for smart solutions and sustaining participation by encouraging citizens and organizations to actively participate in the development of urban areas and policies. Suggested topics may cover, but are not limited to, the following aspects: knowledge management and smart cities, sustainable development of communities, knowledge transfer within society, knowledge and social innovation, etc.

Our member, Dr. Malgorzata Zieba and her collegue Prof. Susanne Durst, organize a special track on Managing knowledge risks in organizations during the IFKAD 2018 Conference. Suggested topics may cover, but are not limited to, the following aspects: knowledge risk management, different types of knowledge risks (e.g. knowledge leakage, knowledge loss, knowledge hiding, etc.), factors influencing knowledge risks, knowledge protection, etc.

Our Association and the organisers of the European Conference on Knowledge Management offered a Doctoral Workshop before this year Conference in Barcelona. The Knowledge Management Doctoral Workshop concentrated on the subjects of KM research, practice and teaching and new challenges in the KM field. The workshop gathered 25 participants and was very fruitful. It was led by our members: Ettore Bolisani, Sandra Moffett and Malgorzata Zieba.
