Doctoral Workshop: The future of KM
The future of KM: short-time goals and long-term vision
Led by Sandra Moffett, Ettore Bolisani, and Malgorzata Zieba, International Association for Knowledge Management (IAKM)
Our Association and the organisers of the European Conference on Knowledge Management offered a Doctoral Workshop prior to the conference held in picturesque, Barcelona. The IAKM Doctoral Workshop concentrated on the future of KM, investigating short and long-term perspectives of KM research, practice and teaching. A presentation of the views of the hosts was combined with interactive workshop activities focused on current and emerging challenges in the KM field.
The workshop was attended by 25 participants and was very fruitful. Discussion was healthy and had to be curtailed to enable a refreshment break and on-time closure, the issues could have been discussed long into the night!
This is the second year that our Association has offered a Doctoral workshop at ECKM. Due to the popularity of the workshop on both occasions, IAKM will endeavour to continue to offer this event. If there is any particular topic that you would like us to focus on, or would be interested in hosting/co-hosting the workshop in the future please contact Dr Sandra Moffett ([email protected]) to discuss the options.
The presentation from the 2017 event can be found here.
A synopsis of workshop discussions is found here.
