Biography
Professor of Management Information Systems at the Centre for Business in Society, Coventry University (UK), and Visiting Research Scholar at the Department of Communication, Culture & Technology of Georgetown University (USA).
My research focuses on the relationships between people and technology, with particular emphasis on cyber security management and data-driven innovation.
My original background in Computer Science was complemented by a PhD in Information Systems and Knowledge Management from Cranfield University. This socio-technical understanding of information technologies and information systems has enabled a focus on the wider challenges of data, information and knowledge management in organisations and society.
I am a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and member of the executive committee of the International Association for Knowledge Management (IAKM). I am also academic member of the Warwickshire Cyber Crime Task and Finish Group, member of the Advisory Board of the Future Aluminium Forum, and member of the Special Interest Group on Knowledge Management at the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIST). I am a member of the editorial board of different international journals.
In addition to a leading role at the Research Centre for Business in Society, I have been the course director for different programmes including the MBA Cyber Security at Coventry University.

- Cyber security management and the challenges around data, including privacy and trust, from the perspective of the individual and society;
- Big data and analytics and its applications as a driver of innovation, strategy development and new business models; and
- The multiple uses of personal data in the digital economy and its implications and challenges for business.
