Biography
John S. Edwards is Professor of Knowledge Management and Emeritus Professor of Operational Research and Systems at Aston Business School, Birmingham, U.K. He holds MA and PhD degrees from Cambridge University. His interest has always been in how people can and do (or do not) use models and systems to help them do things. This has taken him on a 40-year journey from mathematical management science models through expert systems, decision support systems and business processes to knowledge management, into which he has been researching since 1994. He has written more than 65 peer-reviewed research papers and three books on these topics. He was founding editor of the journal Knowledge Management Research & Practice, the first KM journal to achieve an impact factor listing, and remains its consulting editor. He serves on several editorial boards and conference committees and acts as ad hoc reviewer for various journals, research funding bodies and universities across the world.

Research: How knowledge affects risk management; investigating knowledge management strategy and its implementation; knowledge management in health; the relevance of technology to knowledge management.
